Hip & Knee
What would you do to be able to walk, go for a hike, do the gardening and possibly even jog again without experiencing achy pain and stiffness for hours if not days afterwards? You know you are starting to slow down and are no longer able to do as much as before because your hip or knee pain is gradually affecting your ability to be physically active and sometime you feel a tightness in your lower back that wasn’t there before because your body is compensating.

Effective Exercise Tips To
Help Stiff & Painful Hips
Developed in-house by APC worth €24.99
The good thing here is, despite having an X-ray or MRI scan that shows the alleged dreaded diagnosis of Osteoarthritis – commonly referred to as ‘wear & tear’, there are several things that you can do to help reduce your pain and stiffness and improve your confidence on that leg that you have learned not to trust because it just doesn’t feel strong and gives the occasional wobble every so often. It is not a nice feeling. There is no fun in taking a fall due to loss of balance.
Firstly it is very important to be aware that the diagnosis of OsteoArthritic change in the hip or knee joint doesn’t not immediately imply that you need a hip or knee replacement. Thankfully APC Physio & Sports Clinics treatment approach is the same used by APC physios and Patrick Hanley (APC’s Lead Physio) during his years of experience working with elite level athletes, physiotherapists and strength coaches in Munster Rugby, leading professionals around to world and currently with the IRFU. The approach is designed so that you will reduce pain for good by building up the muscles around your hip and knee and loosen up the joint with effective hand on techniques that will leave you feeling less pain with noticeably improved movement and the ability to walk for longer. Then you will be perfectly placed to get back to your hike, round of gold or dancing that had been impossible to even consider beforehand.
If you are unsure about where to turn for help and advice because you have had several bad experiences in the past don’t worry. We understand where you are coming from and how frustrating it can be.
That is why we have a few options in the form of a 15 minute phone or face to face ‘Physio Taster’ consultation for you to try before even making that first physiotherapy appointment with us.
People find these really helpful because it gives you the opportunity to speak or meet with one of our neck pain specialist physiotherapists so you can get a better understanding of how our proven treatment system can help you.
